A transparent explanation of what Trader POS collects, why it is needed, and the choices available to merchants.

Section 1

Information We Collect

We collect information required to provide, protect, and improve Trader POS.

  • Account information: phone number, profile name (first and last name), email address, profile picture (avatar), store name, store phone number, store logo, currency selection, and receipt/invoice notes.
  • Business and operational data: product inventory details (names, barcodes, stock levels, low-stock alerts, selling and cost prices), customer contacts (names, phone numbers, and running outstanding debt balances), complete sales and transaction records (receipt numbers, items sold, subtotals, discounts applied, total amounts, paid and remaining balances, payment statuses like Paid, Partial, or Credit, payment methods like Cash, Mobile Money, Card, or Credit, and sale notes), cashier payment records, detailed stock movement logs (covering sales, purchases, manual adjustments, returns, and damages), and customer account ledgers that serve as an audit trail of debits and credits.
  • Technical and diagnostic data: device model, operating-system version, app version, performance events, usage analytics, and crash information collected through services such as Firebase Crashlytics.

Section 2

Device Permissions Usage

  • Camera: used when you scan product barcodes or choose to capture a product photo. Trader POS does not intentionally record video or capture images in the background.
  • Bluetooth or nearby devices: used to discover, pair with, and communicate with compatible receipt printers when you initiate printer-related actions.
  • Contacts: optional and used only when you choose to import a customer’s name or phone number for sales or debt tracking.

You can control permissions through your device settings, although disabling a permission may prevent the related feature from working.

Section 3

How We Use Your Data

We use information to authenticate sessions through SMS OTP, process and record sales, calculate totals, manage stock, maintain customer ledgers, generate receipts, provide team access, diagnose errors, protect accounts, and deliver product updates.

We do not sell, rent, or trade merchant business data or customer contacts to third-party advertisers.

Section 4

Cloud Services & Data Storage

Trader POS uses secure, vetted third-party service providers to power its services, including:

  • Google Cloud & Firebase: for database hosting, secure server infrastructure, backend APIs, and session diagnostics.
  • Arkesel: as our primary SMS gateway provider to deliver SMS OTP authentication messages.
  • Cloudinary: for storing and serving merchant upload files, such as store logos, profile pictures, and product images.

All data transmitted between the Trader POS app and these services is encrypted in transit using Transport Layer Security (TLS) and is encrypted at rest where supported by the service provider's infrastructure.

Access is strictly limited to authorized systems, personnel, and service providers that need the information to operate or support the service. While no transmission method or digital storage is 100% secure, we apply reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards to protect your business records.

Section 5

Merchant Data Rights

Subject to applicable law and identity verification, you may request access to, correction of, export of, or deletion of your store account and associated data. Some information may be retained where required for security, dispute resolution, fraud prevention, legal compliance, or legitimate record-keeping.

To submit a request, contact privacy@traderpos.app.

Section 6

Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this policy to reflect product changes, legal requirements, or improved privacy practices. We will publish the revised policy with a new effective date and provide additional notice when required.

Continued use after an update means the revised policy applies from its stated effective date, subject to rights provided by law.
